Dawn Carter, Owner of Eldorado Skin Care began following her passion for the Healing Arts in 1993. Her previous experience working with dentists, doctors, chiropractors, senior health facilities, children with spinal injuries, HIV/AIDS patients as well as tax and accounting have earned her extensive knowledge of “hands-on” personal service.
After 15 years of owning Body & Breath Spa in Dallas, Texas she relocated to Eldorado of Santa Fe. It has long been her heart's desire to dwell in such a beautiful, peaceful and healing place while doing the work she loves. Eldorado Skin Care was established in January 2011.
Included in her extensive studies of massage therapy she has trained in such modalities as Myofascial Release, Reiki, Ortho-Bionomy, Neuro-muscular Re-education, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Transformational BreathWork and Prenatal Massage. In 1997 she broadened her understanding of skin care with certification in Belavi Facelift Massage. She continues to pursue knowledge of skin care through various avenues of advanced training.
As caregiver to numerous family and friends she became interested in working with health challenged individuals. Dawn became a Certified Clinical Oncology Aesthetician in 2009 under the tutelage of Morag Currin, Executive Director of the International Society of Oncology Esthetics. These services are now available to health challenged individuals in the North Central New Mexico area.
Dawn’s professional memberships include Associated Skin Care Professionals and International Society of Oncology Aesthetics. She gives of her time and services to support organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters of New Mexico, Vista Grande Public Library, Eldorado/285 Recycles Program.
Dawn enjoys hiking, cooking classes, fishing, traveling, music and photography.
